TEXTILE INDUSTRY
Today, the textile industry, which the fashion world guides with its fiber, colors, design and production processes, is one of the most important industries in terms of its economic and environmental impact on a global scale.
Along with the multiplier effect of the market size, the intense water/energy consumption in the production processes and the chemicals released into the nature cause the textile industry to be viewed negatively in terms of the environment.
Modern biotechnology offers industrial enzymes to the textile industry to minimize these negative effects on the environment. Textile enzymes are used in industry in the starch-based desizing process, in the biowashing process to remove non-cellulosic pollution on the surface of cotton, in the biopolishing process to prevent feathering and lint of the cellulosic fiber, in the bleaching process of the fibers and in the removal of hydrogen peroxide used as bleach, and in the denim abrasion process as an alternative to the traditional grinding method.
